GOWLLAND HARBOUR TO PENDRELL SOUND

 Thursday, August 7, 2025

Today we get to change venues to Pendrell Sound which we all love! The water is so warm up here, into the 70s, so there will be lots of floaty time (we hope).  We and the Abells left Gowlland around 8:45 for the 4 hour run up to Pendrell, hooking up with Bill and Lorraine on Far Niente along the way – they were coming down from Stuart Island. Because of the last two days of storms, Pendrell, which is normally packed stem to stern, was wide open with only two other boats in the very back bay! This was great for us because we had 4 boats to raft up. After considerable jockeying and maneuvering, we finally secured the three boats together, with Island Breeze (Frank and Eileen) the 4th boat. They ended up delaying arrival until tomorrow so it was just the three boats for tonight. Connie offered to make everyone Chipotle Chicken Rice Bowls for dinner – such a treat! Then we all made the cardinal mistake of having happy hour with appetizers….which just made everyone full. The boys had to fight off yellow jackets during our gathering, which came out of nowhere to invade our happy hour. Connie’s bowls were a hit – but everyone was way to full to take on Cherry Cobbler that I had made, so we saved for tomorrow. We had a rousing game of Hearts on Far Niente then called it a night around 9:30. Fun evening!

What a difference a day makes! Good Morning from Gowlland Harbour, not a cloud in the sky after yesterday's violent storms!!

Looking out from our anchorage in Pendrell Sound, gorgeous day!
