Tuesday & Wednesday, July 29-30, 2025
Cast off Tuesday at 7AM for our 5
hour journey down to Blind Channel where we hooked up with our MBYC friends,
the Abells, Knapp/Malone, and Paines! It was a joyful reunion on the docks with
some of our besties. With all the crab I had just caught I offered to make
everyone lunch which was crab melts on English Muffins. We sat topside and
indulged in our delicious lunch, catching up on everyone’s lives and recent
trips. Abells had just returned from 2 weeks in Norway, Sweden, Denmark on a
Viking Cruise so we got the full low down on that adventure (they loved it and
highly recommend Viking). Tuesday evening we went to dinner at the Cedar Post
Inn, the onsite restaurant at Blind Channel and it was incredible once again,
they do such a nice job! Wednesday was crab cake production morning for me, as
I had picked the crab yesterday and Monday and it needed to be used or it would
spoil. Making crab cakes is a huge endeavor and it took until 2:30 in the
afternoon for me to finish – not counting my lunch break – but now they are
done, vacuum sealed and in the freezer ready for the next party. Beth, Connie
and I went for a hike in the woods up to the big cedar and back – didn’t see
any bears thankfully, but I was armed with bear spray since I was certain I
smelled like crab. Wednesday night we did a Mexican buffet dinner on our boat,
always a hit. Another great day in the books. It’s beautiful here.

This little cove on the backside of Dent Island is a waiting area for tugs with loads to wait for the Yuculta Rapids to go to slack. While they wait sometimes someone from the crew goes to shore and places a sign with their tug name as if to say "Been Here"
