Goodbye beautiful Alaska, we have had the most
incredible time over the past 7 weeks. What a beautiful part of the world and
we feel so fortunate to have been able to visit from the water. We were the
first ones at the fuel dock this morning as we once again fed the thirsty
Esperança with 400 gallons of diesel before embarking on our way south. It was
approximately 3 hours to the first major crossing of our return journey, the
Dixon Entrance, and we had the smoothest water to date on a crossing. Thank you
again Greg Abell for your pre-cruise blessing of the fleet! I hope the Cape
Caution crossing next week will be the same experience since it’s twice as long
in the open water than at Dixon Entrance. We cleared customs through NEXUS
which was a snap and settled into our moorage at the Prince Rupert Rowing and
Yachting Club - we are back in Canada which means...I will get some data back! As usual, it is pouring here in Prince Rupert – I’ve never been
here when it’s not been pouring! John braved the sideways rain to walk to the
grocery store for a few provisions, then later we both walked (some of us hobbled)
up to town for a repeat dinner at “OPA Sushi” since it was so delicious when we
came through Prince Rupert at the end of May.

Looking South towards Dundas Island in the heart of Dixon Entrance, smooth water! |

Looking west while in Dixon Entrance, nothing but open seas beyond the boat in the distance. |
