Day 65 – Moored in Ketchikan – July 16, 2018

Woke up to the sounds of all the charters once again, but today it is absolutely POURING. Visibility is low and the ceiling is only about 500’ – the poor charter passengers are not going to see much from the seaplanes today but they continue to ferry people out and about. I’m sure it’s an excursion sold through the cruise ships so not refundable regardless of weather. Today we finalized a plan to commit to surgery on 8/8 for my hip replacement – oh joy – but while the surgery will be no fun, neither is living every day in pretty severe pain. So now I just have to be home by 8/7 which means our vacation can continue for the next 3 weeks with relatively no interruptions. Now we can finally leave Ketchikan after 4 days at the dock and resume our trip south – yay!

This little River Otter decided to hop up on the dock next to us
