WINDY -- Gusts over 20MPH this morning!! We had a lot of anchor chain out so we were swinging a little too close to another boat this morning. Decided to move to the dock a day early as being out on the hook in the winds isn’t exactly relaxing. Moved to the Gorge Harbour dock late morning and now have a great spot on the end looking east. We had a day of projects and housecleaning, with an afternoon of book reading and internet surfing. The winds, which were chilly all day, finally switched over to warmer winds late afternoon so we took our usual cocktail cruise around the harbor with some G&Ts. As long as we were going with the wind, I was sunning in a tank top, but as soon as we turned around to come back a sweatshirt was required. My gin and tonic tipped over when we turned into the wind and soaked my fleece so John being the gallant husband he is, gave me his pullover. There are a lot of interesting things to look at here in Gorge Harbour, like active and abandoned shellfish farms, derelict boats and liveaboard floating camps – meaning usually a boat with tarps, with attached shelters on floats, everything cobbled together in a floating encampment. We drove by another floating “shop” of sorts that appeared to be housing a boat under construction and repair of some ancient seaplanes. There are some beautiful vacation homes on shore, also some ramshackle homes that look abandoned.  Back at the boat I whipped up some grilled chicken thighs marinated in Dijon, lemon, and garlic, with rice pilaf and roasted broccoli for dinner. Finished up Joe Pickett Season 2, and kicked John’s butt in Cribbage. Lots happening here (LOL), nothing much of interest to report.

Cocktail Cruise!

This encampment is extensive, not a bad place to live!

Just one of many nice homesteads
