Windy again early this morning, I am tired of this pattern as the morning winds are really chilly! It’s 11AM now and it appears to be tapering off, so maybe I’ll get lucky. John is preparing to leave on a whirlwind trip back home to attend a Blakely Island Board meeting, leaving on a float plane at 12:30 today. I chose to remain behind as his schedule was a bit too ambitious for my liking: Float plane today to north Lake Washington arrive 3:00; Uber to the house; get in the car and run errands then drive to Everett and get in the plane; fly to Blakely Island for 2 nights then reverse the process to get back to Bellevue on the evening of Saturday June 5th, catch an 8:30am float plane flight to fly back up here on June 6th. Exhausted just writing it down on paper. I have my “Denise” meals all planned out, all the things he dislikes. First up is a Quinoa Arugula Chickpea salad with red onion, almonds, dates in a lemon vinaigrette. This should feed me for the next three nights. Maybe some avocado toast for breakfast. There is free yoga on shore every morning, although I don’t have a yoga mat and am not exactly very bendy, so am going to inquire at the store to see if I would manage or whether I should steer clear to avoid making a fool of myself. I did sign up for a massage on Saturday morning so am very excited about that….again, something J not crazy about doing for himself, so am indulging myself. I might even eat ice cream every night, they seem to have every flavor of Drumsticks in the freezer in the store – Strawberry Cheesecake? Did not know they made those. J helped me launch the kayak so I can explore the bay if indeed the wind stays tolerable. I can also take the whaler over to Manson’s Landing and go explore over there, which I’ve never done before. Supposedly great clamming at Manson's Landing as well, one of the few places sanctioned for clam harvesting up here. Everywhere else (practically) it is red tide. Shark Spit is also a fun destination right outside the harbor, one of the few places I know of to find Sand Dollars. Will be catching up on my reading, maybe watching my favorite shows after dark, with full control of the remote. When John returns our real adventuring begins as we will take off as fast as we can to get up to the Broughtons and hopefully beyond, if the wind cooperates for crossing Cape Caution. Looking forward to more fishing and getting some crab and prawns!

It’s been super interesting people watching here. Today a woman on the next dock over in a rather rundown sailboat, is strutting on the dock in a fuzzy white bathrobe while dramatically pulling on her cigarette. Later tonight (around 9:30), she is now in a skimpy bikini bottom and tee (sun is down by the way). My neighbor across the dock from me is rather curmudgeonly, complaining about the teens having fun tonight jumping off the dock to swim and careening around the bay in kayaks, he thought they were “too noisy” and said “I thought this was a private dock” – lighten up…..they were just having a good time, I thought it was joyful. He also informed me he meant to invite me over for Happy Hour since I was alone, but that he got too busy with chores. Whew, dodged that bullet! He keeps referring to his wife onboard but we’ve been here three days now and I’ve not seen any evidence there’s a wife onboard. Hmmm…

Safe Travels!

Finally warmed up tonight, and it was glorious and toasty topside
