Today I woke up with a severely swollen right foot, with multiple bites
on my foot and ankle. I believe I am clearly allergic to whatever bit me, I
think it has to be mosquitos because if it were horse flies I would have felt
them bite because they actually BITE a chunk of flesh out of you, they don’t
just sting. It was to the point where I was starting to think I’d be heading to
the clinic in Thorne Bay, today’s destination, about 4 hours away. During the
cruise to Thorne Bay my toes began to tingle as I believe I was losing
circulation due to the swelling. With no Benadryl to be found I took a Sudafed,
then a Claritin (expired), and rubbed my foot with Benadryl Cream, and also
iced and elevated my foot. Nothing seemed to work. We arrived in Thorne Bay in
time for lunch, but first stop was the grocery store to get Benadryl into my
system. We walked into the cute little town of Thorne Bay, which is situated in
the back of a very large calm inlet, with homes dotting the shoreline. The town
is very small with just a couple shops, one restaurant (burger joint) where we
got lunch, and a boatyard. The docks were new, power was great, and we had a
nice stay. It was 84 today! Too hot for this girl, we even ran the A/C to take
the edge off. We had a really nice cruise way back into the far reaches of the
bay, checking out all the different homes and fishing lodges. It seems like a
very peaceful and active community.

Just one of the many floating home compounds in Thorne Bay |

It was an eagle show on the beach near the dock! |

An older eagle chasing a juvenile, the one on the left is just barely an adult, note the mottled feathers, still transitioning |

More eagles, they are everywhere here |
