JULY 4, 2022 – PRINCE RUPERT TO KLEWNUGGIT

Happy Birthday USA and to Jenni our daughter! OH and to Angie my friend Lori’s daughter! Lots of 4th babies. DISMAL fog and rain this morning and 54 degrees, NO! I will take heat wave instead please. I realized I forgot two things at the store and the next store isn’t for a few weeks, so we walked back up to Safeway and the Marine store this morning before heading out. It is misting but reasonably warm so not too bad except for the fog. We pulled away from the dock around 10:30AM uneventfully, there was no wind. Prince Rupert can be so nasty in the afternoons when the wind kicks up, it’s not my favorite place. Nothing much to talk about along the way today, no whales or other creatures. We pulled into Klewnuggit around 4:30 to find ourselves once again all alone in the back cove. I am not sure we’ve ever seen anyone else in here in the 4 times we’ve been. Maybe because it’s a long motor off the Grenville Channel to get to the protected anchorage, I don’t know. Anyway, it’s lovely back here surrounded by the snowy peaks that are slightly less snowy than they were in May, but best of all no flies. The sun came out this afternoon so we both enjoyed hanging out on the back deck basking in the sun while we cooked dinner, which was the last piece of salmon from John’s catch in Shearwater back in May. Clearing the freezer for our next fishing marathon next week in River’s Inlet.

The sun finally came out!
