Day 50 – Moored in Sitka – July 1, 2018

Today was the Malmo’s last day with us so they spent the morning packing and readying to depart. Late morning we took the whaler out and toured Sitka and the surrounding islets in the inner harbor where there are many gorgeous homes. The weather is pretty great today with clouds but lots of sunbreaks, as we are gearing up for a 70 degree day tomorrow and a full week of sunshine is predicted. After Malmos departed, John and I took care of some things around the boat then went back to town and wandered the shops and galleries again at a slower pace. Bought a small Native American carved paddle and another interesting picture of mixed media for the cabin. Topped off our afternoon with an early dinner of burgers and beers at the Bayview Pub in town. No cooking when we are in port if I can help it! Tomorrow we are heading out of Sitka a little bit south where we will anchor for a couple days or so, fish, crab, relax, and regroup.

Headed out to sea

SELFIE! Since we have no pics of Malmos on this trip. Last day together

We think this was  B&B at the dock

Stop in by boat for some waterfront dining

  1. Tim organized a fishing trip that I was on to Sitka. I loved the raptor center, glad you got there. it is a Beautiful place, but pretty dreary in the winter.
