Day 20 – Moored in Ketchikan – June 1, 2018

Our good weather fairy took a hike -- we woke up to wind and rain and more typical Ketchikan conditions. David and Shannon left this morning for Seattle for the weekend to take care of some things. Ashley and Jeff arrived this morning at 8:30 and John took the tender over to pick them up at the airport. Probably one of the only airports in the nation where you can pick up passengers outside the terminal at a dock! We spent the day cozied up inside for the most part – but the big news is that John fixed the oven!! After paying for overnight delivery for $350 worth of oven parts, it turned out to be a blown breaker in the oven that the tech support guy talked us through. Hallelujah! Ventured out for lunch at Annabelle’s Keg and Chowder House which was unremarkable. Did a little shopping and other errands then back to the boat for naps. There are 5 cruise ships in town today so it is crowded. Dinner tonight was more of John’s salmon, cooked on the grill seasoned with a mix of Cajun seasoning, lemon pepper, garlic powder and smoked paprika (the secret ingredient), along with rice pilaf and roasted vegetables.  Dessert was berry crisp again at the request of the kids. After an evening of hearts card game, we all turned in for the night.
